About Freddy
Freddy Carbajal has been involved with MSA softball for more than 20 years and is currently serving in his first year on the Marshalltown Softball Association Board of Directors. Over the years, softball has become an important part of his life both on and off the field, helping build friendships, connections, and a strong sense of community through the game.
Leading Those Guys
For more than a decade, Freddy has been a key part of one of Marshalltown’s longest running teams, “Those Guys,” where he has also served as team manager for the past eight years while continuing to actively play and pitch. His leadership, dedication, and passion for the game have made him a respected part of the local softball community for many years.
Family support
Family support has also played a huge role throughout Freddy’s softball journey. His wife, Julie, has been a consistent supporter through his years of involvement with the league, his teams, and now his role within MSA leadership.
Building the future of MSA
To Freddy, softball represents far more than competition. It is about community, connection, and creating opportunities for future generations to become involved in the game. Through his role on the board, he hopes to continue growing player and community involvement, bringing new teams into the league, and helping keep softball strong in Marshalltown for years to come.
Beyond the ballpark
Outside of softball, Freddy enjoys spending time with family and being outdoors whenever possible. Fishing, traveling, and camping are some of his favorite ways to relax and recharge. He also enjoys hands on projects around the house, DIY work, and spending time tinkering with electronics and coding.
